Rebuilding PTO Funds With A Fast high-energy sale

A Playground-Sized Win
After investing in a new playground, Seth Woodard Elementary needed a fundraiser that could help rebuild school funds quickly.
Starting Strong With A Kick-Off Assembly
The fundraiser launched on October 8 with a school-wide kick-off assembly designed to build excitement from day one. Parent letters were sent home before the assembly, and about one-third of students returned them before the sale began. Once students experienced the energy of the kick-off, participation quickly grew.
Selling Out Again & Again
Seth Woodard Elementary started with 150 boxes of World’s Finest Chocolate, expecting it to be a strong launch. Unbelievably, the school sold through every box the very next day.
As more permission slips came in and momentum built, the school added another 150 boxes, which sold out within days. An additional 100 boxes were gone before they even arrived, followed by a final order of 150 boxes.
“The excitement among students carried home, motivating families to participate and helping the school far exceed expectations.”
Powered By School Spirit
The success came from strong teacher and parent involvement, a motivating prize program through their World’s Finest sales rep, and a high-energy assembly which helped students feel excited, confident, and ready to participate. In the end, Seth Woodard Elementary turned a need to rebuild funds into a community-wide win.

Her advice to other PTOs is simple: be prepared, and invest in quality prizes. With the right planning, World’s Finest Chocolate can become a fundraiser students look forward to and families rally behind.
